What Is a Leader?
Rational Deism® does not have the common ancient religious concept of a priest, elder, or other term that denotes a special privileged “ordained” understanding by a human being of “god” or The Ethereal, or any special divine metaphysical powers, such as power to make water “holy.” The Second Enlightened Tenet prevents any such presumption of knowledge of god or the divine in a manner such as the teachings of Socrates. Certain religions have such attributes, which Rational Deism® accepts by application of and with the qualification of the Three Enlightened Tenets.
Because Personal Revelation is personal, there is no person who can enforce a social dogma of compliance. The society in which the Rational Deist exists has social laws appurtenant to action in a social context. In Rational Deism®, a “Leader” is simply a Rational Deist (whether or not achieving personal revelation) who is authorized to speak for the organization to assist members in achieving Personal Revelation; that is, to lead a person to a person’s self revelation of I AM, being self-defined. Some things need to be “unlearned” and the Leader assists in that process of sloughing off rules, sloughing off constraints, and sloughing off abstract guilt. A Leader neither judges nor desires to hear any personal revelation, being incapable to judge it by The Second Enlightened Tenet.
A Leader’s joy is in helping another person achieve the state of I AM, being self-defined, not in furthering Rational Deism®.
