What Is Personal Revelation?
This question evidences a subtle exposition of the challenge posed by indoctrination. This question would be answered by many ancient religions that say, “It must be such as this or that or else you are condemned for non-compliance.” This is not a principle of Rational Deism®. In a manner of many ancient religions, this type of condemnation rejects all of some of unique personal revelation, or presumptuously purports to have knowledge of divinity, or even rejects love of non-conformists. All these ancient shackles are contradicted by the Rational Deist.
The question itself seeks an answer from an external source that Rational Deism® suggests cannot be answered except from the internal source that asks the question. Not everyone can understand this point; it is too sophisticated, and religious and cultural indoctrination has conditioned us to look to a validated external authoritative standard. The meaning of life for any person cannot be socialized.
Let us say that someone asked, “What does or should a person look like?” This question cannot be answered specifically because each person is unique. The different persons may share abstract attributes, such as eyes, but each person is different, and no person is “right” or “wrong” in being unique. Personal revelation is like height, or weight, or eye color, or any combination of everything, that makes a person unique. Such as it is for a person’s uniqueness, so it is for the uniqueness of personal revelation. There is no “standard” against which to measure “correctness.” The question begs a mirror.
You will know, if you can get there. But, you say, “How will I know that I am there?” You will know, which is the revelation itself. There is the story of a person who showed a picture with a hidden symbol to another person. The viewer kept confirming seeing the picture, until the viewer actually saw the picture, then exclaiming, “Oh my gosh, there it is!” You will cease to wonder once revelation is achieved.
Some abstract conceptual terms have opposites that do not necessarily operate as opposites. For example, motion and motionless are opposites as abstract terms; however, motionless is a state of static nothing, and motion is a state of dynamic anything.
Such as it is for defining the term The Ethereal, we need some term that describes the essence of the state, without necessarily stating what it is. Without saying what Personal Revelation is to any person, it might be said that the effect is a quiet confidence, peace, and joy, that nothing external matters or is superior, and, therefore, the Personal Revelation, reveling in its own perfection, does not need to be expressed, defended, or explained, and there is no longer any further external authority to which the person is a slave of conformity.
The person has achieved the revealed state of I AM, self-defined, bound directly to self with The Ethereal. A “Leader” may assist another only in sloughing away indoctrination so to allow the person to achieve the person’s Personal Revelation.
